Easter Dress Project

Here's the finished look of the Easter skirt I made from the dress I showed you a few posts ago. The sweater I ended up using doesn't really allow the waistband to show, but you get the idea.

I cut off the top and shortened the zipper, took in the waist and reworked the waistband a little bit.

I have another skirt to revamp already and I'll put up pictures when I do.

  1. I love it! That's exactly the kind of skirt I would wear.

  2. Love your gorgeous dress! Did you think about getting a little shrug..maybe off-white with some corcheted accents? Yesterday I went to Anastasia's attic in Gardner Village and I think you would love that place--very romantic! There are pictures of inside the story on Stacy's Shabby Shoppe: Anastasia's Attic

  3. very cute skirt! I have passed up many beautiful good deals because there was something (mostly just a minor thing) not to my liking. I had not though about fixing them up like you did your Easter skirt! Great job.

  4. Thanks all. I originally was hoping for a larger knit sweater with short sleeves and a larger rounded collar, something feminine with accents that would match the skirt- and cost $150 at Anthropology...but if you go shop with a preconcieved notion like that then it's usually dissapointment. I settled for this cream sweater from target..I don't like cream and white, but once I had it on I really liked how it looked in person. It has a teeny silk ruffle around the neck and down the buttons. I sewed down the front to keep it together which I often do to sweaters that can be pulled over the head. I'm nursery teacher at church so I have to be able to move around and not worry about the clothes.
