Easter Dress Project

Here's the finished look of the Easter skirt I made from the dress I showed you a few posts ago. The sweater I ended up using doesn't really allow the waistband to show, but you get the idea.

I cut off the top and shortened the zipper, took in the waist and reworked the waistband a little bit.

I have another skirt to revamp already and I'll put up pictures when I do.

Happy Easter

It's not spring break. It's not the Easter Bunny. It's not eggs and candy.
What is it?

It is the Savior who suffered and died for each of us, as a gift of love from God.

He saw our faces and our names and our lives and our pain.

My life has been far from perfect. I know that some of that suffering was for me.
But I try and live a good life. I try and live my life in such a way, that as our lives came before the Savior's eyes, my life and efforts could give Him one moment of pause and relief amidst the anguish and suffering of milions of sins.

My family is the most tangible reflection of my Savior's love for me.

Spend some time on this holy Easter day with those you love.

Day of Beauty

You may have noticed in my last post that Missy dog was getting a little scraggly. Well, she had her day of beauty yesterday, and wanted me to post pictures so you don't think she always goes around like that.

Missy is a Cavachon, and just about the sweetest dog ever. Sometimes if we're gone to long she'll toilet paper a room, but other than that she is very well behaved. Someday I'll tell you all about her. But not today. Her birthday is coming up later this month. She also has a Missy fan page on facebook.

A Sunny Spring Day

Today we had a real glimpse of spring weather. After months of alternating rain and snow, the sun finally came out. It was over 70 degrees today. It was a great day to sit out on the patio with a bowl of fresh fruit, and my little doggy Missy

After that I decided to start work on an Easter outfit. This is a dress I got at Target on clearance last fall. I fell in love with the soft cotton fabric but it's too big and I don't like the bodice style. But when something so awesome is on clearance for a couple bucks I just can't resist. I'm going to remove the upper section and just use the skirt.

Little Missy dog was very interested in everything Mommy was doing today!
